Cross Cultural Awareness

Cross Cultural Awareness

Be prepared to

Operate in a Cross-Cultural Environment

Cross Cultural Awareness is the ability to look away from ourselves and have an awareness and understanding of the cultural values and customs of other cultures. What may be normal and acceptable to us, could be unusual to other cultures. An awareness and respect of the different value systems handed down in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, in relation to family, land, sea and heritage.

Cross Cultural Awareness is also about challenging people’s attitudes and mindsets of the way they think and do things in a Cross-Cultural environment.

Cross Cultural Awareness Training

Cross cultural awarness training is an introduction to culture and will prepare you with the ability to communicate effectively and a knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait culture and society. This training will explain what ‘Aboriginal Cultural Protocols’ are. We offer introductory, immediate and advanced training to define “What is Culture”, what are other cultures, beliefs, customs, and religion, identity, spirituality, where they come from and what is their connection. When there is an understanding and awareness of the cultures, we are more equipped to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Being confident when talking about culture and being aware of what culture is leads to being more prepared and more resourceful dealing with cultural clashes.
