Community Capacity Building

Empowering

Community Ownership and Responsibility

Our workshop deliver knowledge and advise strategies to understand and begin community capacity building including a SWOT (Strengths, Weakness Opportunities and Threats) analysis of the community, speaking to the key community members, and an awareness of what is happening in the community.

Before any Community Capacity Building is to take place you need to build the trust and establish respectful relationships and partnerships with the community and its members and have a knowledge and understanding of what the Community protocols are. It’s vital to provide advice to Council Executive; ensuring that community consultation and engagement has happened through the entire process and to get the community involved in the process. Ensure you have open dialogue with the community, be honest and don’t make promises. Providing feedback to the community at all stages through the process of Community Capacity Building is also essential.
